An Art Deco building, it was designed by Crick and Furse, the firm responsible for designing many of the Art Deco theatres around Sydney. As The Victory, the cinema screened mostly action movies. This changed when renamed The Rapallo, though neither this nor objections from The National Trust prevented the demolition of the theatre in 1984.
