'Dear Ann, I would like to give you this greeting in person, but as I can't do that a card will have to be the next best thing. The picture is me on my way fishing it was the day we caught the catfish I told you about. Sincerly Walt'.

I believe this is his information. I found only two Walter Guess's in the US National Archives Military Records. The other Walter Guess didn't join the service until 1943. Sgt.
