M. Wodarczyk [M is Michael] was a gunner later a pilot in the US Marine Corps. He is mentioned in the book of Bernard C. Netty - The United States Marines in Nicaragua, see: books.google.nl/books?id=SL9PAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA19&lpg... As Ross E. Rowell is given as "Maj. Ross Rowell developed close air support techniques while commanding Marine Observation Squadron One in Nicaragua in the 1920s" I think this picture was taken in the 1920's in Nicaragua.

I found a short article in the Washington Times dated Aug. 30, 1925 that lists all four men (starts at the top of the 6th column). It a few months earlier than the date on this photo but it's clearly a copy photo so it could have been taken anytime before then.
