This was one of a number of photos taken by Harold Cazneaux of the 'Persian Garden' tableaux that appeared in this issue of the Sydney society magazine, the Home...see pp. 15-19... This particular photo appears on p. 19...per the Home, this is Mrs Charles Jacques, 'a Sultana'... I gather Mrs Charles Jacques (Carla Vera Alexander) was married to Sydney solicitor Charles Alfred Jacques...they divorced in 1931...her first husband, Captain Owen Burton Dibbs, was killed in France in April 1918... womeninview.wordpress.com/ - there's a Bernice Agar photo of her here...taken in 1919... trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/245738342 - the Daily Telegraph, 8th July, 1922...item re a matinee performance of 'In A Persian Garden' given in aid of the Sydney Children's Hospital. This was one of a number of performances of 'In A Persian Garden' that took place in Sydney in 1921-22... 'In a Persian Garden' is a song cycle for 4 solo voices, set to the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám...the music was written by English soprano and composer by Liza Lehmann (1862 - 1918)... The four vocalists involved in this particular production were all professionals...Ernest Archer (tenor), Gladys Cole (soprano), Clarice Coles (contralto), A.E.Y. Benham (basso)...the various characters who appeared in the tableau appear to have been prominent Sydney 'society' figures...
