I can hardly remember when we last posted an O'Connor image and this lovely if rugged scene is a fitting reminder of his many fine shots! An isolated farmhouse beside water with mountainy scenery abounding - but where is it?

Could it be Croagh Patrick in the cloud?
O Mac
Maybe around Ardigole. Mountain could be Hungry Hill maps.app.goo.gl/nx7uAcKddJwumDYS7

According to this draft article on Wikipedia O'Connor died on 12 August 1952. As well as photography O'Connor was known as a publisher and supporter of Irish Independence, being imprisoned for his support of the 1916 Easter Rising. The date of his death addresses some copyright issues after 1 January 2023, notably commercial re-use, on images described by a reputable body such as the NLI provided the provenance indicate they were taken by O'Connor himself and not just random images in his collection that were by others for whom the provenance trail is broken. I am not totally sure put I suspect a lot of his earlier work was around Cork, though I notice at least one from around Killarney. However later work perhaps more around the Wicklow Mountains with the image below from Glendalough:

Question: Is there a plaque for Fergus O'Connor anywhere or is there any photo of him?

https://www.flickr.com/photos/91549360@N03 at a glance I think your Ardigole/Hungry Hill is likely better than my Glendalough. I think I may have spotted a missing plaque opportunity at 44 Eccles Street for O'Connor but that might need some digging into.

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/91549360@N03/] This could be the house in the distance. Marked ‘Dispensary’ on 25”, but I could be easily mistaken. Adrigole is the place name Google Earth Link earth.app.goo.gl/Brfgd1 #googleearth

https://flic.kr/p/2cTsZnk Do I see a familiar house in the distance? https://flic.kr/p/dKiaYk Another O’Connor mystery location, was identified as Adrigole about 10 years back, some of the usual suspects took part in that. I’d wager that some of the other unidentified O’Connor photos are also of Adrigole. On a more sombre note, according to Wikipedia: “In the last week of March 1927 Daniel O'Sullivan, his wife and two of his children were found dead in their home at Clashduff, Adrigole. They had starved to death. This inspired Peadar O'Donnell to write his play Adrigoole, with the setting moved to Donegal”
