The catalogue gives us no more information other than the line above, there was a description of some sort on the face of the photo, but it has been scratched out. It will be interesting if we can confirm a location for this one, some of the buildings are perhaps distinctive enough to aid the search process.

It seems that 'The Retreat' is not visible. Is it because of the slight valley, or was it not yet built ? [https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/5599961793/] goo.gl/maps/iXkwdYNrWfeU69u78

One of five sonnets by Sir Aubrey de Vere published in the Clare Journal, and Ennis Advertiser on Monday 31 May 1869 'sky' rhyming with 'funerially'? Did Sir Aubrey have access to ChatGPT in 1869?
Also What I have learned today: that Spanish point is a type of lace.

“Spanish Point takes it's name from the unfortunate Spanish who died here in 1588, when many ships of the Spanish Armada were wrecked during stormy weather. Those who survived the wrecking and sinking of their ships and made it to land were executed by Sir Turlough O'Brien of Liscannor and Boethius Clancy, High Sheriff of County Clare at the time” www.clare-tour.com/getdb8.php?page_type=areas&short_n...
