The Cowra Experiment Farm was established in 1904 and operated until 1966.

George Lowe Sutton was appointed as the Manager for Cowra and Coolabah Experimental Farms on 11 April 1904, which is understood to be the date the farm was established.

The farm produced crops such as hay and grains. Livestock incl. cattle, pigs, sheep and horses and were kept and milk was also produced.

In 1927/28 cattle won several prizes at the local show incl. the the champion ribbon for bull and cow of the breed.
