Following what was yesterday's damp squib we will continue with the Clonbrock Collection and another of a series that we were hoping might be identified from our visit to Warwick!
Warwick is a far cry from the charming village Knocknagoshel with a rich history, some outstanding architecture and a different culture. This image today is one of that series of images and may or may not be taken during the same visit by the Dillon family. It would be interesting to see if it is, or not?

https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected] Great stuff O Mac - I wonder did they visit Oxford, Warwick and Coventry on the same trip, or were multiple trips made? They are all fairly close to each other anyway

There is a large tower (church?) missing, which might not have been built yet. Seen above the arch -

[Finding this interesting, 'cos I previously thought Mr Hitler bombed Coventry completely flat]

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/beachcomberaustralia] Bombed completely flat doesn't preclude being rebuilt in the same style. See for example Frankfurt's "Old Town", which is about 3 years old [https://www.flickr.com/photos/scorbet/43992770661] (This photo was taken somewhere on the right in this photo from 1944/5.

As you were - the "large tower" is only the top of the old Blue Coat School, to the right in streetview link above - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Blue_Coat_School,_Coventry

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]] I've added them to the map of Dillon travels that I've (very) slowly been putting together.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland If they have been to Warwick and Coventry. I expect you may find other photos for the Cotswolds which are nearby. Bourton on the Water, Morton in Marsh, Cheltenham and Cirencester ?

O Mac
Rory_Sherlock sharon.corbet I'd imagine the Dillons went to all these places in and around Warwickshire at the same time. Sharon proved earlier that the Dillons were in UK (Wales) in August 1900 so possibly same trip. flic.kr/p/2kSszfS

https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected] https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland We've already had photos in Broadway and Evesham, and there are probably others in the area. A lot of the "foreign" photos in the Clonbrock are either missing a location, or are misidentified though so it means finding them can be hard. I've updated the map with all the "foreign" Clonbrock photos featured in the stream (I think), including most of the photos brought up in the comments that were given a concrete location. (Like the Oxford Botanic Gardens one earlier this week.)
