This is an original 1917 SPAD XVII. When the Army retired it the plane was sold to civilian owners and used in film work, including the famous 1921 epic Wings, in which it is seen flipping over. Significant portions of the airframe survived and were used in the construction of the largely original SPAD now on display at the Canada Aviation Museum, Ontario.
