I'm pretty sure that the car is a 1937 Oldsmobile. But look closely, it has a wood gas generator on its rear bumper. So, that would make this a photo taken during sometime between 1940-1945.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/mazdamiata Thank you Martin, for your useful observations! I'll change the period for the date to 1940-1945, according to your suggestion. I wonder if this smart looking car was common in Sweden? /Anna B.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/swedish_heritage_board When I search for car photos on Digitaltmuseum.se, I often see American cars on pre-1940 photos. Sweden of course only had Volvo as a car manufacturer. But you'll see the same on vintage Dutch photos - we did not have a car manufacturer at all in the 1930s. But I admit, an Oldsmobile was quite posh. Just today I found the same car on Flickr, in showroom condition. https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/51184681013/

Amazing old photo - with the wood gas generator! Now I see why you picked up my photo of the Oldsmobile!

It's a 1939 Chevrolet.
