Charles Edwin Jenkinson was born 23 April 1892 . He was the first son of Thomas and Mary Ann Jenkinson (nee Hancock). In 1911 Charles joined the West Yorkshire regiment for 6 months and then enlisted with the Army Service corps for 3 months. In 1913 he moved to Australia on the Ballarat.
On 26 September 1914 Charles enlisted with the Australian Imperial Force at Melbourne and served at Gallipoli and Egypt. He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star, the Victory and British War medals and served until 1920.
Charles married Irene Christiana Gill in 1924 in Victoria Australia. Irene died in 1952 at Maribyrnong, Victoria, Australia. Charles died at Frankston, Victoria, Australia on 13 May 1959 aged 67
