Christopher was born in Beverley in 1894 the son of Peter and Elizabeth Ann Selvidge.
He served in the East Yorkshire Regiment before being transferred to the 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment,
Private Christopher Selvidge of Beverley died of wounds on 14 October 1916.
He was awarded the British War and Victory Medals. He died in the 15th Corps Medical Dressing Station in France. He was buried and is commemorated at Dartmoor Cemetery, Becordel-Becourt. He is commemorated on the Beverley Memorial in Hengate.
