This fine collection of trophies is described by the catalogue as “Agricultural Society’s Challenge Cups” but I suspect that they are not for the prettiest Cows and Horses. Which Society was it, and do the fine trophies still exist today?
Thank you all for yesterday’s work, and especially the Beachcomber’s final comment on Jack the Ripper. I imagine most of us would develop a fever if we were approached by a man wielding a knife and shouting “I am Jack the Ripper”!

The word in the middle of the top right one is Broomfield. I haven't deciphered any other words on it yet.

Something about Agricultural Society on the foot just above the base as well, I reckon.

It looks like "Waterford Agricultural Society Ltd For The Best..." Google reckons there was a silver cup for the best bull. Could be that. The shield looks as if it says "Presented by G.H. Broomfield to Waterford Agricultural Society" Google's turning up nothing that might match that, and the image quality is bad enough that I couldn't make any sort of guarantee that that's the right thing to look for. I'm pretty sure Broomfield is right though, and all W.A.S. connections that the internet has heard of are with places called Broomfield, not people.
