A fine, if somewhat damaged cabinet portrait of Miss Ursula O’Grady of 133 The Quay, Waterford for today’s image. The permanent wave is recently applied, and the hair is very different to the modern styles apparent today, but the lady looks very serene, very well groomed, and she looks like a good catch?

Miss O’Grady’s hair is beautifully set. I wonder did she get her hair done at Patricia’s... https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/5856573079/ or at this one... https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/5800522790/

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/] I've some if you're stuck... Apparently the style is called a Marcel Wave after a Marcel Grateau who invent the technique in the 1870’s en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcelling

https://www.flickr.com/photos/bernardhealy https://www.flickr.com/photos/bernardhealy I am surprised she was married in Dublin and passed away in Dublin, how did the Waterford connection arise? I am seeing the birth record as a male and she looks to me to be more than 24 is this photo? Edit on the first screen it states male - obviously female on the actual register. I understand now. Forget the above.

Mary, This was one of the most satisfying solves I've ever been a part of. And it's quite a story. www.flickr.com/photos/scorbet/ 's brainwave about looking at other Poole wedding photos was an especially elegant contribution. The contributions of www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/ and www.flickr.com/photos/gnmcauley/ also laid a nice foundation.
