Unusual for Mr. O'Dea we do not have a railway view but rather one of a house! Court Cottage looks to be a fine building and in very good condition but a bit grim. I wonder was he thinking of buying it?

I'm fairly sure this is in Woking near this one (see the discussion!): www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland/22816516010/

Streetview (thank you to my earlier self for making this very easy!)

Was this photographed in Ireland? Looks English with it's herring bone pattern brick work to half timbered upper story. 6" clay pan tiles on the roof with bonnet tiles along hip line of roof.

Here's an updated history leaflet mentioning that Court Cottage was built by Stephen Silk for his son Arthur Cecil Silk. (Featuring the Silk's Yard photo too.)

Is this a rear view? See catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000303331 and the front view (like the streetview above) - catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000303332 Edit. Streetview changed above! I meant - goo.gl/maps/MMeDFbizWn6HP7j26

https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected] https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland That Silk's Yard photo is one that has stuck in my mind. (Along with the accompanying lesson of don't always believe the catalogue notes - Co. Dublin?)

https://www.flickr.com/photos/beachcomberaustralia Links show also diamond brick feature with split/napped flint set around it Very common to see it in Wiltshire Hampshire and Dorset. Also nice feature of eyebrow ridge over gable end window

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/beachcomberaustralia] I think this is the front door of the house, but the house is perpendicular to the road. So from the road you see the side of the house, rather than the "front". Oh and did you note the woman(?) possibly looking for her keys in this photo?

https://www.flickr.com/photos/scorbet Q.E.D. Yes, I saw the lady. Mr O'Dea seems to be crouched behind a hedge. Was he a stalker? Or a spy? We may never know ...

Aside My first reaction was that this was the Vicarage from 'The Vicar of Dibley'. Not too different - via https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/3567275833/

https://www.flickr.com/photos/scorbet I also noticed the lady in the photo. Looks quite young.Coat and beret with badge looks like a school uniform. House built for his son A.C Silk explains the good spec rather that part of a run of the mill development to a fixed cost.

Thanks for all the photos. Some comfort for us cocooners. Time of big decisions, whether to hold the handrail and avoid falling or take a chance and get the virus.

So the lady in the other photo could well be Mrs Arthur Silk?
