A very rare visit to the O'Connor Collection and to the banks of my own lovely Lee for todays shot. Yesterdays elegant clutter is followed by an open space with the storied river flowing right through it dominated by wooded banks. Seems to be down the Marina Mardyke but as I am not from Cork I couldn't be sure!

Below the Shakey bridge, that we visited recently, looking towards the real Capitol. The Marina and the Mardyke are on the Lee but different sides of the city.

There's another O'Connor photo a few steps back, at the same time (see trees and white boat moored in front of the Dept of Music building), which gives a few more clues. The lady's coat and hat is looking 1910-ish ... catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000290339

You are of course correct [https://www.flickr.com/photos/abandonedrailsireland]. As confirmed by this SphereView(?) we are of course on the Mardyke. Not the Marina. That "missionary house" (now UCC music building) is listed on the NIAH. While perhaps seeming to be much older, if this image does date to c.1910, it wouldn't actually have been that old by the time of this photo....
