This beautiful scene from County Sligo is today's offering. Not as musical as yesterday's, as political as the day before nor as tragic as Tynan Abbey. Benbulbin must be one of the most photogenic mountains from almost any angle?
Thanks https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]. I've mapped it to the same cross-roads. I don't suppose there's any chance we'd be able to refine the date too much. But, presumably, we're closer to the middle of the range. Rather than either of its extremes....

" . . .a land whose countryside would be bright with cosy homesteads . . ."
[https://www.flickr.com/photos/nlireland] I don't think so; this fellow is too scruffily dressed compared to the aesthetic Jaunty.
I notice in several other Glencar photos that the 'hired help' are purposely looking away from the camera, as if bored.

Flickr is sometimes amazing! A little to the right via https://www.flickr.com/photos/marcialbernabeu/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/marcialbernabeu/38114903545/ Interesting geological details included. There seem to be more trees nowadays.
