We have a very special edition for you today - we are posting 3 photos for you to enjoy.
Sabina Higgins, wife of President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, officially launched our “Photo Detectives” exhibition in September.
During the event we discussed our catalogue of old photographs of Áras an Uachtaráin (the official home of the President of Ireland), and we made a promise to select a number of the photos and to share them here on Flickr.
Áras an Uachtaráin, formerly the Vice Regal Lodge, is now the official residence and principal workplace of the President of Ireland. It is located off Chesterfield Avenue in the Phoenix Park in Dublin.
The building, designed by Nathaniel Clements and completed in 1751 and added to over the years, is open to the public each Saturday.
As usual we look forward to your comments and observations. And, of course,
Photo Detectives is running at the National Photographic Archive in Temple Bar, Dublin, 7 days a week - make sure to drop in if you get a chance!
