This is the corner of Millers Road and Hart St, Millers Point prior to the resumptions and redevelopment of the this into the workers flats of High Street.

I make it 25 children visible and surprisingly well shod and dressed, only three barefoot boys. Three women and three men. Plus the girl partly visible in the shadow near the door of Williams' grocer shop and when you count the feet there is possibly another girl hidden by the broken paling held by the boy in centre. The smiling woman with her hands on the lamp post at right may be flanked by her two sons who appear to be wearing identical shirts that she has made for them. The boy with the stick may have a 'jawbreaker'/'gobstopper' lolly in his mouth or something more serious.
