Once one of the great houses of Dublin and today a shopping mall, the demolition of this building was viewed by quite a few as a "monumental act of vandalism".

B-59 draws our attention to the Frescati House Wikipedia article which covers its history and association with the FitzGerald family and United Irishmen. Perhaps most interesting however (made relevant in recent times with events affecting other 18th century manor homes) are the sections of the Wikipedia article dealing with the 15 year fight to save Frescati from demolition. Ultimately unsuccessfully.....

No dating info on this one: nearby in the catalogue, L_ROY_05951 is Rathmines after the 1899 tram electrification. Likewise L_ROY_05952, lots of men in boaters. A long way back in the catalogue, street scene L_ROY_05933 includes a poster with the date Monday 2nd August. If that is after 1899, it is either 1909 or 1915.
