Rudolph "Rudy" Unholz (1881-1916), also known as "Boer" Unholz, was a German lightweight boxer, though most of his early fights were in either South Africa or the UK, and in his later career he fought mostly in Australia and North America. Given his nationality and the date of his death, I thought he might have been killed in WWI, but BoxRec says he died of tuberculosis, in Glendale, California. His career lasted from 1902 to 1914, according to his BoxRec bout page. LOC's "American Memory" has eleven photos of Rudolph Unholz, from the Chicago Daily News collection.
