The floral clock was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress in 1907 and was created by S R Crofts (the Town’s Gardener) and had a diameter of approximately 19 feet. The mechanical elements of the clock were supplied by Messrs J Ritchie and Son from Edinburgh.
