    The State Library also have this photo. Their date is March 1937. There are an awful lot of overdressed people for a day at the beach! And is that a pipe band in the centre of the arena?

    It sure is a pipe band! We've replaced this with a larger version so you can zoom in. The film clip you added is very interesting. Dated c.1929.

    There are some trams at the North Bondi terminus (the first version - not excavated). I can see part of an O class and what looks like a coupled set of the squarer Ps. I think that they are in the post 1934, cream and green colours which would rule out 1929. I recollect that the modernised Campbell Pde and the new North Bondi terminus date from Dec 1929.
