In 1636, the Mayor of Beverley, Thwaites Fox, granted cottages in Minster Moorgate for use as a hospital for four poor widows.
In 1823, the occupants received 10 shillings per month plus clothing and coal, and 1 shilling 8 pence from other charities. The Hospital was sold in 1872 and the money transferred to the Beverley Consolidated Charities. In 1890 the cottages still existed but were then demolished to make way for Jubilee Terrace.
