    Frank Edgar Evans (19 November 1876 – 25 November 1941) served as an infantryman in the Spanish–American War, and was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps on 15 February 1900.

    In June, 1917, Major Frank E. Evans, was in charge of Marine Corps recruiting in New York.

    There is a torn calendar page from March, 1917 on his desk. The sticker on the negative says June 12, 1917
