The Library of Virginia
A Works Progress Administration photo dated August 1931 in the Library of Virginia collections identifies this building as "Pointer Place" and gives the location as "Ark, Va., Route 17".

Thank you so much! I was hopeful that some of the large houses in this album could be named, but admit that I wasn't so sure about the smaller buildings. The chimney and roof slope must have caught several photographers eyes. -- Helena (LOC)
