Caption: Feb. 1, 1947. The Volendam, chartered by the M.C.C. to carry 2,307 Russian Mennonite Refugees to Paraguay from Holland (329), Berlin (907), and Munich (1071), as it was in dock at Bremerhaven to receive the latter two groups. The Dutch people arrived by truck and train, and embarked on Jan. 28 - a cold day in Rotterdam.
