Herman Rolf lived at 1785 Coventry Road in Upper Arlington with his wife, the former Carey Meismer, and their two daughters, Marcella and Betty Margaret. Mr. Rolf was born in 1880 and spent his early years on a farm in Dearborn County, Indiana. He later moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where he joined his brother in the plumbing business. Mr. Rolf distinguished himself as inventor of a hot water heater that sold successfully both locally and abroad. He served as president and manager of a local company that manufactured and sold thousands of the heaters. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing baseball and pitching horseshoes. He was also the coach of the curling team.
