This photograph, captioned "Dave-Quiet-Temporarily," was on the cover of the October 1918 Norwester magazine. "Dave" is presumed to be Herbert Sherwood Warwick, who was known as "Dave" to his friends and served as business manager of the Norwester magazine upon its establishment in 1917. He is sitting next to a large tree on a bank of the Scioto River. This issue of the Norwester had a story titled "The Fishing Club Outing," which mentioned several other participants including Frank Rogers, Lew Albright, Paul Spence, Ben Thompson, Fred W. Reed, Warren Armstrong, Frank Furniss, Ed Nace, Orr Zimmerman, "Warden Thomas," and "Dave."
