Mr. Ed Nace (Mr. E. E. Nace) was the National Champion in the sport of horseshoe pitching. Horseshoe pitching was a popular sport in Upper Arlington during the years 1917-1918. The games were played in the orchard and then moved to Miller Park as the number of participants grew.
