Mr. Charles A. Gibson and his wife, Fay (Dodds) Gibson were from Cambridge, Ohio, and Marietta, Ohio, respectively, and resided at 1890 Tremont Road. Their daughter, Catherine, was a member of the first graduating class of the Upper Arlington High School in 1925. Charles Gibson was very active in the early development of Upper Arlington. He acted as a deputy marshal, served on the committee to select land for the first schoolhouse, and was a member of the charter commission for the village. Along with fellow Arlington resident Paul Spence, Mr. Gibson owned the Gibson-Spence Coal Company.
