Uppsala mounds. The three burial mounds, dated to ca 600 AD, are also called the Kings' Mounds. In the background Gamla Uppsala Church, built in the middle of 12th century. Gamla Uppsala is one of several Historical Sites in trust of the Swedish National Heritage Board.

Uppsala högar. De tre gravhögarna, daterade till ca 600 e. Kr., kallas också Kungshögarna. I bakgrunden Gamla Uppsala kyrka, som byggdes i mitten av 1100-talet. Gamla Uppsala är en av många historiska sevärdheter som vårdas och visas av Riksantikvarieämbetet.

    In the National Heritage Board´s offices I´ve seen a painting done from the same view of the mounds. There´s something about the church sticking out from behind the mounds that attracts the eye perhaps.
