    I'd say this is some kind of whaling or boiling down operation...the chap in the thick of things looks like he's holding a flensing knife...the various bones we see scattered around look like whale bones...ribs...a whale's humerus, ulna and radius (ie. the mammalian upper limb bones)...the piece of carcass suspended from the tripod looks a bit like a whale's fin...lucky Flickr doesn't do 'scratch and sniff'...
