Description: Light Horse Field Ambulance wagons transporting wounded soldiers across the desert on Christmas Day, 1916. The Battle of Magdhaba was fought on 23 December 1916 by Major General Harry Chauvel's ANZAC Mounted Division and the Imperial Camel Corps. Turkish forces blocking the route to Palestine were successfully overcome.
