    Presumably taken during the 1889 flood. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the retaining wall which we see in the foreground to the rhs is still there...a good portion of the brick and cast-iron railing fence which sits atop the retaining wall is definitely still there...though the caps on the brick pillars have been removed at some point. Another fascinating pic of 19th century Brisbane. Thanks for posting it on Flickr SLQ!!! PS - the ANMM also have a fascinating Poulsen Studios pic of this stretch of the river...taken a few years later, during the 1893 flood evidently...
