(VI) Mary (or Polly) Gibson, daughter ofReuben Gibson (5), born in Fitchburg, March 26,1777; baptized in First Church, May 4, 1777; diedin Fitchburg, November 9. 1848. She married (first)about 1800, Daniel Chesmore, of Henniker, NewHampshire, and Troy, Vermont. He died after1S16. She married (second), April 6, 1823, Jona-than Battles, of Fitchburg. Mr. Chesmore took a lively interest in churchaffairs, and at Henniker he and his wifes uncle,Thaddeus Gibson, voted against the settlement ofRev. Moses Sawyer.
