Due to the fact that Lt Adams' full name isn't given, it is hard to find out any definite information about him. However, there is a report from a newspaper in Whitstable, Kent, in 1916 in which a Lt E S R Adams is noted to have received the Military Cross. he is said to have been in the war from the start - being part of the BET in 1914. His mother's name is given as Mrs Pell. I cannot find any other information, but suspect that this solider did receive the Military Cross.
