I've tried to see whether the yew is still there. Aerial views seem to indicate it is, but I can't tell for certain.
He sure has a reason to be proud! :) Thanks for your efforts to look for the tree, I tried myself on Google Earth, but found it hard to see. An article on Wikipedia about Ellinge Castle gives some information about the castle park, which might have been created in 1827 - the year when the yew on the photo was planted. The article also refers to an essay written by students at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), which tells about "the large and old trees" at Ellinge. Interesting! /Anna B.
