I highly doubt that this is a police woman, Germany didn't get police women till the 1920s. Furthermore she seems to be holding a ticket clipper and might be standing in a tram. I think she is a tram conductor. Was she called a police woman on the original photo or more recently?

She has a badge with the inscription "Bahn Polizei Beamter" (railway police official).

the badge says "Bahn Polizei", however, the lady in question was employed as ticket controller at one of the regular railway or city railway (U-Bahn or S-Bahn) stations in Berlin. In her hand she´s holding a ticket slip puncher and she is effectively blocking the passage to or out of the platform. Women were, indeed, employed, by the Reichsbahn but not by the police s such. Hope that helps. Greetings from Berlin!

Original is inscribed "policewoman," but we can add a note of nuance to the record. Thanks, All!
